My wish for you

I'm not Irish.  There was no real Irish community in our neighborhood growing up.  So I was not familiar with the "Irish Blessing" (Sorry Marcia).

Today thanks to an Irish pastor, I learned that the Irish Blessing is a real thing... and there's even a hymn.

The sentiment of the hymn touched me.

It's hard enough being human, and most people here have suffered more.

So today here's my wish for each and every one of you

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be ever at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again.
May God hold you, May God hold you
Ever in the palm of His hand.

Irish Blessing

Lol, I'm not Irish either Sterling but I think the Irish have the nicest adages, prayers, etc. If there's a movie I'd like you to see, maybe you already have, it would be "Waking Ned Devine" (waking as in "viewing"). It's funny as anything and a real endearing film. My late BFF/soul sister, Ellen was Irish/Scottish and so is my Godmother. Funny about neighborhoods......ours was Italian Catholic. My family is Slovak, some Czech; we are olive toned and dark hair and they took a beautiful suntan. My Grandparents would go to the butcher, furniture store, etc, and the owners would start talking to them in Italian. My Grandparents knew words here and there in Italian and they always got a discount on everything.

Sounds like my background. I grew up in an area known as "Dutch Town".
I think on my dad's side we were mostly English ...some German.
I'll have to look into that Movie...thanks!

We have a huge Dutch and German population here in PA. THE Pennsylvania Germans were among Washington's best soldiers in the Revolutionary War. Yeah, the movie....You'll like it!
